First thing that comes to mind: is badu just doing something for shock value, or is she genuinely into her work as art? I think first I need to understand her intentions….
And am I clueless if once I’m done watching, all I do is shrug and say “meh”? …i dunno…I’m still processing…
As for the song? Nina Simone does one of the best renditions…maybe my thoughts on the vid wouldn’t be strong if it had been another song by another artist.
